Yet, “Behold, the kindness and severity of God!” Paul exclaims. So there is room for kindness in the hearts of celebration-minded Elders (especially since the awards dinner is scheduled during the holiday season), because
it is unnecessary to memorize these verses word-for-word. More important is memorization by significant phrase and chapter number (not verse number). So, for example, from the first verse, below, what is the significant phrase to remember? “I am confident…that He who began a good work in you will perfect/complete it…”
Here again we are trying to accommodate the older age groups, whose failing intellects and dull mental acumen are a matter of common knowledge, by virtue of their own well-rehearsed testimonies (or
whines – it is not easy to discern the difference).
